The Proctor Lake Community Association

All of the property owners on Proctor Lake belong to the Proctor Lake Community Association (the “PLCA”). The PLCA has established many rules to govern the use of the area. Here are the most important ones:

The road

  • Keep the gate locked at all times.

  • Drive in low gear—especially on the hills.

  • Observe the posted speed limits.

  • Don’t litter or dump garbage by the roadside.

The lake

  • Don’t throw anything in the lake.

  • Don’t use gasoline- or diesel-powered motors or tools on or near the lake.

  • If you must use detergents, use only detergents with a low phosphate rating.

Neighbourliness

  • Keep the parking lots clean.

  • If you are a guest, park your car in the guest parking lot only—not in the parking lot by the dock.

  • Don’t use pumps, generators, or power tools before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.

  • Keep noise to a minimum.

  • Don’t borrow others’ boats without their permission.

Bonfires

  • Between May 20 and October 1, don’t start a bonfire of more than 1 cubic meter without a permit.

  • Burn only on a wet, still day, and never leave a fire unattended.

  • Don’t leave a fire site unattended until you’re certain the fire is completely extinguished.
